Confirm the hardware-only control path.
This project does not include firmware in the source. The circuit itself provides the required behaviour.
How to connect
- Match every controller label to the circuit view and source pin map.
- Join grounds before signal wires when separate low-voltage supplies are used.
- Keep motors, relays, pumps, and other loads on a suitable driver and external supply.
Common mistakes
Reversed VCC/GND, board-label versus GPIO-number confusion, missing common ground, and charge-only USB cables.
Troubleshoot
Disconnect loads, continuity-test one path at a time, then test with a current limit.
Software preparation
No IDE, board package, library, or firmware upload is required for this project.
If you add a programmable controller as an extension, document its pin map separately.
How to upload code
The original design is implemented entirely in hardware, so proceed after verifying the circuit and supply.
Assemble, deploy, test, and troubleshoot.

Project overview
Project build noteIR based light control: Transmitter circuit When a car or motorbike comes through the gate and crosses the sensing area, this IR-based light control circuit turns on the lights in the portico, car parking, or other areas. It can also be used to keep an electronic eye on your house by setting off an alarm at the same time. The system is made up of a pair of transmitters and receivers and a switching circuit. The transmitter and the receiver are put on opposite pillars of the gate so that the infrared (IR) beam from the transmitter hits the IR sensor of the receiver directly. When someone walks through the gate and blocks the IR beam from hitting the sensor, the system is turned on. Transmitter Figure 1 shows the circuit for the transmitter. It is made up of an infrared (IR) LED and a NE555 timer (IC3), which is wired as an astable multivibrator with a frequency of about 38 kHz. Through IR LED1, the 38kHz infrared beam is sent out.
Receiver The receiver circuit is shown in Figure 2. It is made up of a TSOP1738 IR sensor, a CD4538 dual monostable multivibrator (IC1), and a few separate parts. IR based light control: Receiver circuit When the IR beam hits the sensor, pin 3 of its output stays low, and pin 5 of IC1 goes high because T1 is conducting. When someone blocks the IR beam from hitting the sensor, pin 3 of the sensor's output goes high, which triggers IC1 (at pin 5 via transistor T1) As a result, pin 7 of IC1's output goes high for the set amount of time. When BC548 (T2) conducts, it turns on relay RL1 and turns off LED1. When the monostable time is up, LED1 starts to light up again. By choosing the right value for the capacitor connected to IC1's pins 1 and 2, the time period of IC1 can be changed. IC1's time period is set by a small rotary switch with three positions and the capacitors C3, C4, and C5. Diode 1N4001 (D1) works as a diode that can move around freely. Between the pole of relay RL1 and the neutral terminal of AC mains is the switchable bulb (B1). When the relay is turned on, the normally-opened (N/O) contacts
of the relay connect it to the live terminal of the AC mains supply. From the AC mains, the step-down transformer X1, the bridge rectifier (made up of diodes D2 through D5), and the regulator IC 7805 get the 5V power for the transmitter and receiver (IC2).
