STEP 4 / 6 · Source code

Confirm the hardware-only control path.

This project does not include firmware in the source. The circuit itself provides the required behaviour.

01

How to connect

  1. Match every controller label to the circuit view and source pin map.
  2. Join grounds before signal wires when separate low-voltage supplies are used.
  3. Keep motors, relays, pumps, and other loads on a suitable driver and external supply.

Common mistakes

Reversed VCC/GND, board-label versus GPIO-number confusion, missing common ground, and charge-only USB cables.

Troubleshoot

Disconnect loads, continuity-test one path at a time, then test with a current limit.

02

Software preparation

No IDE, board package, library, or firmware upload is required for this project.

If you add a programmable controller as an extension, document its pin map separately.

03

How to upload code

The original design is implemented entirely in hardware, so proceed after verifying the circuit and supply.

01

Project overview

Project build note

At a distance of between four and five meters, this mobile phone detector is able to identify the presence of a mobile phone that is turned on. Therefore, it can come in handy at a place where mobile phones are not allowed, such as an examination room or a meeting. Even when a mobile phone is set to silent mode, the circuit is able to decipher incoming and outgoing calls, as well as text messages, Internet traffic, and video broadcasts. Its LED will begin blinking as soon as it picks up an RF signal coming from a mobile phone that is actively being used, and it will continue doing so until the signal is no longer present. Circuit and working The schematic for the mobile phone detector that makes use of an LM358 may be found in Figure. The LM358 (IC1) and the BC548 npn transistor serve as its primary building blocks (T1). When a mobile phone is turned on, it emits radio frequency (RF) signal that travels through the air in the immediate vicinity. The transmission carries electromagnetic and radiofrequency (RF) radiation that was emitted by the phone. In order to detect the radio frequency (RF) signal sent by the mobile phone, the circuit makes use of capacitor C1. C1 is responsible for the absorption of any radio frequency (RF) signals that the mobile phone may emit; these signals are then sent to the inputs of IC1. The blinking of LED1 serves as an indication of this fact. The range of the circuit can be adjusted by adjusting the value of Preset VR1 (2.2M). The signal that is obtained at pin 1 of IC1 is fed into transistor T1, which serves to amplify the signal. The circuit can be used for 2G networks as well as GPRS and network search, both manually and automatically. The 3G, WCDMA, and HSDPA network signals are not detected nearly as well by it.

02

Construction and testing

Project build note

The mobile phone detector circuit is depicted in figure 3 as having a single-sided PCB layout, and figure 4 depicts the component configuration for the circuit. After the circuit has been assembled on the PCB, place it within an appropriate plastic enclosure. A power supply of 4.5V DC is required for the circuit to function.
