STEP 4 / 6 · Source code

Confirm the hardware-only control path.

This project does not include firmware in the source. The circuit itself provides the required behaviour.

01

How to connect

  1. Match every controller label to the circuit view and source pin map.
  2. Join grounds before signal wires when separate low-voltage supplies are used.
  3. Keep motors, relays, pumps, and other loads on a suitable driver and external supply.

Common mistakes

Reversed VCC/GND, board-label versus GPIO-number confusion, missing common ground, and charge-only USB cables.

Troubleshoot

Disconnect loads, continuity-test one path at a time, then test with a current limit.

02

Software preparation

No IDE, board package, library, or firmware upload is required for this project.

If you add a programmable controller as an extension, document its pin map separately.

03

How to upload code

The original design is implemented entirely in hardware, so proceed after verifying the circuit and supply.

Project overview

Project build note

During the evening, you may illuminate a small area with the help of this straightforward circuit. In addition to its utility as a snazzy bedroom night lamp, it may also be put to use in a variety of different contexts. In spite of its adaptability and

complete automation, the circuit only draws a negligible amount of electric electricity from the grid. Figure displays the wiring diagram for the cool table lamp's internal components. It is constructed of a rectifier diode 1N4007 (D1), a 0.47F, 400V capacitor (C2), a transistor SS9014 (T1), a linear variable resistor (LDR) (LDR1), a blue LED (LED1), and a few additional components. R1 and R2 both have a resistance of 47 ohms. The 230-volt-alternating-current mains supply is input through the CON1 connector. Fig.Circuit diagram of the nifty night lamp This light operates on a power supply of 230 volts AC mains and does not require a transformer. The components that are utilized here would assist in keeping the general efficiency and safety in check. An alternative that is more cost-effective to a conventional power supply is a capacitive transformer-less power supply. The constant-current arrangement that is utilized in this setting generates approximately 30mA at 5V DC. While resistors R1 and R2 are responsible for limiting inrush current, capacitor C2 is the most important component in this system. The values of resistors R1 and R2 are selected in such a way that they do not lose an excessive amount of power but are still large enough to limit the amount of current that flows during the inrush phase. When connected in parallel with capacitor C2, 470-kilohm resistor R3 forms a filter that reduces the amount of EMI that is transmitted back to the grid. When the device is

unplugged from the AC mains, it also performs the function of a bleeder resistor, which empties the capacitor (wall plug).
