Connect one verified path at a time.
Explore the named components and standardized signal flow, then use Source Check to verify exact physical pins, values, and topology before applying power.
Trace this circuit.
Mock Alarm with Call Bell: interactive parts, standardized terminals, responsive anchored wires, student explanations, and the original circuit reference in one shared system.
Trace before wiring
Follow power, ground, inputs, processing, and outputs in that order. Never guess a pin from package shape alone.
Connect with power off
Make short, labelled connections and share a common ground only where the schematic requires it.
Inspect every joint
Check continuity, polarity, adjacent shorts, and loose connections before the first power-up.
Open all source diagrams and build views 1 visuals

Confirm the hardware-only control path.
This project does not include firmware in the source. The circuit itself provides the required behaviour.
How to connect
- Match every controller label to the circuit view and source pin map.
- Join grounds before signal wires when separate low-voltage supplies are used.
- Keep motors, relays, pumps, and other loads on a suitable driver and external supply.
Common mistakes
Reversed VCC/GND, board-label versus GPIO-number confusion, missing common ground, and charge-only USB cables.
Troubleshoot
Disconnect loads, continuity-test one path at a time, then test with a current limit.
Software preparation
No IDE, board package, library, or firmware upload is required for this project.
If you add a programmable controller as an extension, document its pin map separately.
How to upload code
The original design is implemented entirely in hardware, so proceed after verifying the circuit and supply.
Assemble, deploy, test, and troubleshoot.
Use the complete source notes in build order, then pass the final checks before calling the project finished.

Project overview
Project build noteThis is a completely functional fake alarm that can be used to scare away any potential home invaders. The alarm is programmed to go off at sundown and will remain "on" till the next morning. The machine gives off the impression that it is some kind of high-tech alarm by flashing light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and making intermittent beeping noises. In addition, the circuit keeps a lamp illuminated during the night by switching it on and off at regular intervals of thirty minutes. In addition to that, there is a facility for call bells. Mock alarm circuit
The CMOS integrated circuit CD4060B (IC1) is the central component of this circuit. This IC contains an internal oscillator as well as a 14-stage binary divider, which allows it to offer a long delay without the need for a resistor and capacitor with a large value. To connect the 9V power source to the circuit, press the switch labelled S2. The light- dependent resistor LDR1 has a low resistance during the day, allowing transistor T1 to be able to conduct. This causes transistor T2 to enter the cut-off mode because its base is dragged to ground by transistor T1, which is a consequence of this situation. As long as transistor T2 is disabled, the reset pin 12 of IC1 will maintain its high state. Because of this, the oscillator in IC1 (which is made up of the resistors R5 and R6 as well as the capacitor C1) stays disabled, and its outputs do not change. Through the use of preset VR1, one is able to modify the sensitivity of LDR1. The circuit operates from a power supply that is regulated to 9 V. Assemble the circuit on any PCB that can be used for a variety of purposes, and then encase it in a plastic box that is watertight and has holes in the top and back for mounting the LDR and LEDs, respectively. Position the light-dependent resistor (LDR) such that sunlight can directly hit it. Install the device on the pillar that is located at the entrance gate. Install lamp L1 in the porch of the home, which is a sufficient distance from the LDR, to prevent illuminating the device unnecessarily. Maintain the speaker's presence within the room.
